Publication Ethics
Jurnal Teknik (E-ISSN: 2774-5023) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Pakuan University. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on the guidelines and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work of the authors and their supporting institutions. Therefore, it is important to agree upon standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing.
Editors’ Responsibilities
Publication Decisions
The editor is responsible for deciding which manuscripts submitted to the journal should be published. Decisions are based on the importance, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript, as well as its validity and contribution to the field. The editor may consult with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without the written consent of the author.
Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts.
Promptness
Reviewers should promptly notify the editor if they are unable to review the manuscript within the required timeframe.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and report any similarity or overlap with other works.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest and must not use privileged information for personal advantage.
Authors’ Responsibilities
Reporting Standards
Authors must present an accurate and objective account of their research. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable.
Data Access and Retention
Authors should be prepared to provide raw data and retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite all sources.
All manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin).
Multiple or Concurrent Publication
Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is unethical and unacceptable.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript.
Ethical Oversight
Research involving humans or animals must include appropriate ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All financial or other conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
Authors must notify the editor promptly if significant errors are discovered and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.

The publisher (Pakuan University) is committed to ensuring that editorial decisions are independent and free from commercial influence. The publisher supports the editorial process and ensures the integrity of the academic record.
Plagiarism Screening Policy
All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using reliable software. Manuscripts with high similarity index or evidence of plagiarism will be rejected.
Retraction, Correction, and Withdrawal Policy
Retraction
Articles may be retracted if:
There is clear evidence of misconduct or error
Findings are unreliable
Plagiarism is detected
Correction
Corrections will be issued when minor errors do not invalidate the findings.
Withdrawal
Manuscripts may be withdrawn before publication upon request with valid reasons.
All parties involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to these ethical standards to maintain the integrity, transparency, and quality of scholarly publishing.
